Do you need help switching on your NordicTrack treadmill? I put together this simple guide for you. I hope it helps.
I have the NordicTrack C700, but I’m pretty sure the procedure is the same for all models. It won’t help NordicTrack if each of their products operates differently.
That would be costly and not good for their brand.

Turning on this treadmill is actually quite simple and can be done in just a few easy steps.
It may be intimidating at first, but don’t be too anxious when pressing the buttons to avoid messing up the settings.

Step by Step To Turn On NordicTrack Treadmill
- The first step is to locate the reset switch (although if the treadmill is still folded, you should unfold it first).
- It’s usually at the bottom front of the treadmill, near the base. This switch can be red, black, or white, depending on the model. The NordicTrack C700 has the red one.
- I always make sure that the reset switch is off for safety before proceeding to the next step.
- Plugging in the treadmill when it hasn’t been reset may not cause a major problem, but it eases my mind when I do that. This machine is expensive, after all.
- The next step is to plug in the treadmill. Most treadmills run on standard 110V/120V grounded outlets, or 220V/230V depending on your country’s socket voltage and treadmill’s model. So you can plug your unit into any outlet inside your house. The cord is short, though, so it would be best to place the unit close to the outlet.
- Some models come with a voltage stabilizer, with the objective to maintain stable voltage and avoid the machine to experience any voltage shocks or blown fuse issue. If your treadmill has a voltage stabilizer, please make sure you plug the treadmill into the socket of the voltage stabilizer, while the voltage stabilizer plug is connected to the main power source. (Treadmill -> Voltage Stabilizer -> Main Power Source Socket)
- Once you’ve plugged it in, you should see a light turn on, indicating that the treadmill is receiving power.
- Then, insert your key into the hole below the console. Your treadmill will only work with your safety key appropriately inserted. Read this post to troubleshoot treadmill safety key issue.
- When the treadmill is on, you should hear a beeping sound, and the console should light up, and the fan should be working. You can now adjust the display settings to your liking.
You may also change the speed and raise the incline. You can also set your workout goals, such as time, distance, and calorie burn.
